is a simple program for making project scheduling charts known as Gantt
charts. If an on-screen chart is too long (horizontally) for one screen,
you can page through it. However, the captions are not repeated on each
screen, making it difficult to keep track of what the lines represent.
Other than that, the program is well designed and easy to use. The
on-screen charts require EGA/VGA video.

IPM

allows you to arrange and monitor a network of tasks or activities that are to
be completed by a certain time or date.

PERT - is a PERT program.  Requires BASIC.

WhoWorks 2.10 (WHOWORK)

is a work scheduling program which allows the user to make, edit and print
5-week work schedules for up to 32 persons. Features include calendar functions;
choices for width of schedule entries; macro keys that allow you to type
schedules with a single keystroke; printouts in standard calendar format;
schedules for each individual and a printed master schedule. WHOWORKS is easier
and quicker than using a word-processing program. Requires a printer which is
graphics-compatible with the Epson, IBM or HPLJ.

addition or a rathskeller. It will keep a running total of the cost of the

is a simple inventory program for keeping track of up to 200 different types
of items. It doesn't appear to store the transactions, just the current
balances.

SC-EST 2.0

is a billing program for General Contractors.  It allows for entering
quantities as jobs progress.  Progress estimates can be printed as necessary.
Payments to date and retainages are maintained and printed on the estimates.

is for material take-offs by general contractors.  It can however, be used for
other estimating purposes as well.  The program will maintain an index file of

is easy to use and inexpensive project management system.  Some of the
features of Easy Project include user-defined project phases, a maximum of
2000 tasks with up to 100 sub-tasks each, unlimited resource assignments with
user-defined rates, departments and usage, Gantt charts, extensive reporting,
an option for the system to not update the Actual date fields when using
automatic scheduling, print all phases at once, and dBase III file
compatibility. The program is menu driven and seems to be well written, fast
and easy to use.


Personal Computer Project Manager

is a project management program that has been around since 1984 without
catching our attention before. The program is in uncompiled BASIC, should you
feel like customizing it, though it already seems to be quite extensive.


Quick Gantt

and show project progress. This program is designed not to require any graphic
features in the PC. If you use a LaserJet or good dot matrix printer,
presentation quality Gantt charts can be created with the IBM graphics
included on most printers.

item, and scheduled maintenance for each item. Maintenance can be scheduled

It can do the necessary number crunching and menial tasks such as retrieving
records, printing work assignments, posting to records, and report generation.
It has look-up windows for quick search and selection of data when the user is

features include employee work history report, master equipment list, and
more.


Defect Tracking System

To eliminate the extensive input of raw road and mileage data that most such
programs require, this program is based on grid coordinates and straight line
distances. As part of the user interface, this program requires Lotus 1-2-3 or

helps you schedule a queue of work where skilled people are the principle
resource needed to get that work done. The scheduler assigns work to the
people in the staff plan based on their skills and availability and then
calculates the elapsed time needed to complete each task based on their
availability. You can further refine the schedule by assigning priorities and
declaring dependencies between related tasks. We could not get it to work
under DESQview, but ran fine from plain DOS. It purports to work on LAN's. It
requires 512k.

events. It is network compatible. Four schedules consisting of up to 999

and monthly/bi-monthly/quarterly maintenance requirements. Requires a hard
disk, DOS 3.1+.

menus, and pop-up data entry. This program is a powerful and flexible management
tool, handling up to 50 resources, 100 projects, and 500 tasks. Other features
include date and cost calculations with built-in reporting. A customized
calendar reflects days per week worked, hours per day, and holidays. You can
customize an age warning period to point out inactive tasks. Modification or
creation of new printer drivers is also allowed, and you can print to screen,
print file, ASCII data, or printer.

reports are available.

you to maintain tasks as well as resources with status codes for each item.
Printing options include printing of all the tasks, or a subset of tasks based

GANTT reporting options, and more. 370K of disk space is required.
